Here We Go!
I've just put down a deposit for a professional editor and a book cover design team.
My editor is sending me edited chapters every Friday, and anticipates being done by mid-January. The book cover design team will begin working on my cover December 29th, and I will be able to look at the first draft a week later.
Things are really happening now.
By using Amazon's createspace, I will have print-on-demand paperback versions of Passage, as well as an e-book to be sold on a variety of platforms. My budget (given to me by my father as my 30th birthday present), will also allow for the interior design of the book, some marketing, and even a professional review.
I don't expect to make money from the first book. The first book is all about getting my name out there. It's about introducing Charlie and Tirigan. It's about showing you the world I'm creating. Most series don't start making money until the third book. Money isn't really my focus.
I'm more concerned with how I'm going to make a name for myself. I am not one for self-promotion. However, insecurity is no self-published author's friend. I'm going to have to get over my bullshit and start selling myself on the streets.
Okay not the streets, but it certainly feels that way to me.
Wish me luck.
